Job Description

Siemens Government Technologies (SGT) is seeking a highly experienced individual for a position as a Director, Project Controlling to support the Business Line management and the Financial team in all commercial functions associated with a Siemens Government Technologies multi-division business line focusing on software and service.

Position summary:

The Director, Project Controlling responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting, reporting & analysis, business process improvement and month end closing and project controlling activities. This highly visible position requires regular interaction with internal and external customers as well as interactions with senior level staff members. In addition this position will oversee activities of assigned staff in multiple locations that support the software and service business of SGT.

Responsibilities include:

· Manage a staff of financial professionals across multiple locations

· Prepare project pricing calculations and documentation

· Work with the Head of Accounting to and maintain appropriate project accounting and controls

· Assist contracts group in negotiating project subcontract agreements

· Establish and maintain budgets and forecast as well as overall cost control

· Develop and maintain strong financial control and analytics over the business line

· Establish and maintain strong alignment with sponsoring divisions

· Drive business line profitability and other performance metrics

· Ensure timely and accurate billings [Cost Plus, T&M, and FFP]

· Track, reconcile and maintain accurate balance sheet account reconciliations and support

· Monitor and work to maximize project cash flow

· Prepare risk and opportunity assessments; develop and execute plan to mitigate risks

· Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

· Conduct monthly business line review meetings

· Assist with contract close out and incurred cost submissions

· Support internal and external audits

· Ensure commercial activity is compliant with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines and

· Government accounting standards

· Adhere and enforce company policies and procedures

· Apply defined business controls required to support company compliance, and level of authority requirements

· Coordinate activities with support teams including Corporate Accounting, IT, HR, Contracts, and Supply Chain Management

Requirements include:

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related discipline, MBA a plus

· 8 – 10 years of experience relating to Program Controls, Project Controlling [cost-schedule-performance], Financial Analysis, Pricing in the Software and Service industry for various contract types and complexity

· Supervisor experience – defining and assigning work activities of others as well as setting and achieving project work objectives

· Experience in developing project pricing models and performing scenario analysis

· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

· Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work and multitask effectively

· Ability to work well in both team setting across multiple locations

· Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and motivated to drive change and foster an environment to help achieve business results

· Communicate effectively with all levels of management both orally and in written form

· Advanced level MS Excel skills with the ability to design complex models

· Working knowledge Government contracts, FAR and CAS a plus

· Working knowledge of project accounting and IFRS principles

· Experience with Deltek Costpoint a plus

· Experience working with multiple Siemens divisions a plus

· Strong project management skills (PMI certification or equivalent a plus)

Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
